ComboCurve: Forecast (Economic Assumption)

Forecast (Economic Assumption)

Forecasts are not interactive in the Scenario page but reside in the Forecast or Type-Curve modules in CC (Navigated by the project landing page or via the hamburger icon at the top-left of any screen) .  Once created there, forecasts may be selected for economic run in various ways via the "Forecast" column of the Scenario Table.

Note: A forecast is not required for an economic run on a property as long as a valid FPD is available via the hierarchy system in the Dates tab (ie, a CAPEX or OPEX case without revenue).

Forecasts can be selected by clicking on the ellipsis (...) next to the top-level Forecast header (upper circle and whisker) or on an individual property (lower circle and whisker) to:
  1. Apply/modify many properties - Will modify any well currently selected by the blue boxes at the left-hand side of the screen.
    1. Choose Forecast -  Picks a forecast from available sets to apply on the selected properties.
    2. Choose Lookup Table - Picks a forecast via a pre-created Lookup Table to apply on the selected properties.
    3. Choose TC Lookup Table - Picks a forecast via a pre-created Type-Curve Lookup Table to apply on the selected properties.
    4. Remove Assignments - Removes any Forecast or Lookup on the selected properties.
    5. Filter By - Shows a pop-up with a table of properties with applied forecasts via any type: Unassigned, Forecast, Lookup Table, TC Lookup Table.

  1. Apply/modify a single well
    1. Choose Forecast - Picks a forecast from available sets to apply to this particular property only.
    2. Choose Lookup Table - Picks a forecast via a pre-created Lookup Table to apply to this particular property only.
    3. Chose TC Lookup Table - Picks a forecast via a pre-created Type-Curve Lookup Table to apply to this particular property only.
    4. Modular Forecast - Opens up Modular Forecasting which allows you to view and edit for the forecast.
    5. Remove Assignments - Removes any Forecast or Lookup from this particular property only.

Some forecast workflows allow different curves representing probability-based outcomes called "P-Series" to be generated on each set of forecasts.  On a given forecasts, selecting which of these subsets to use is done on the P-Series column in the scenario: Best, P10, P50, P90.

Note: See the ComboCurve: Dates article to view the discussion about FPD Hierarchy and what does or does not modify the start dates of forecasts as applied in the economic runs.
