ARIES Conversions

Below is a comparison file and video tutorial on exporting and importing ARIES databases in/out of CC.

Comparison File

The files and instructions below allow QC and comparison of any import from or export to ARIES.

If you have any further questions, please create a ticket to schedule a demo of these processes with Alan Harris.

Download the .zip file attached below including three files to facilitate comparison (if the download link does not work, email alan.harris@combocurve.com to send the files):
  1. A blank ARIES .accdb file to use to import the csv/txt if not using your own db -and- it also has the ComboCurve formatted objects a) AC_ONELINEONE table b) CC_ONELINE query to populate the Excel spreadsheet.
  2. An ARIES .SSF file to allow ARIES to output a copy/paste-able cash flow.
  3. A macro-enabled Excel workbook where you drop cash flows and oneline summaries for comparison between the programs.  Note that this file has detailed instructions as shown in the snip describing the tabs below.

Note: ARIES sometimes has PROPNUMS that are all numeric.  When these exceed 15-characters, Excel auto-converts these to scientific notation by default.  This may make comparison by (X,V)LOOKUP in Excel difficult.  One mitigation in O365 is to ensure "Additional Options" on File==>Options==>Data==>Automatic Data Conversion is checked to allow the popup to prevent automatic data conversion upon loading csv files into Excel.

Video Tutorial

  1. Attached below in this article is a zip file with a "BROKEN" sample db that's similar to the problems encountered in the video so you can follow along and try the fixes yourself.  It is not exact since it was created after-the-fact but it is very similar.
