ComboCurve: Archiving and Restoring Projects
Archiving and Restoring Projects
In this article we will discuss Archiving and Restoring projects
Archiving
Archiving is the process of saving a snap shot of your project. Archiving a project will not remove the project but make a saved copy of it that can be restored at a future date. The archived copy will not be effected by data imports or any changes to the live project. Any company level wells in the project will be severed and a copy of the wells will be saved with the project at the point of the archive. Multiple archives can be done on the same project, a list of time stamps will available to the user to choose from if they need a restore. Archiving can be initiated by clicking on the three dots next to the work button on the projects page.
Restoring
Restoring is the process of pulling an archive back to a live project. Restoring an archive does not remove the archived version of the project. Multiple restores can be done to the same archive. This is useful if a restore is done but something was changed and the user want to restart from the original archived project. Restored projects that originally contained company level wells will not have the wells reconnect to the company level and get updates. A restore will present a project exactly as it was when it was initially archived. Restoring an archive can be done by heading to the archives tab on the projects page and clicking the restore project button. If multiple archives where done on a project the user can select the version they would like to restore.
