Share Codes:
A share code is ComboCurves' native method for sending a project to another user.
Important Things to Note:
- Importing a project via a Share Code results in a copied project. Any changes to a shared project will not be applied to the original project.
- If you share an archived version of a project, no changes to that shared version will be applied to the archived version before or after it is restored
- Once a share code is deleted or reached its expiration date, the code will be unusable.
Creating a Share Code:
Start by opening the project you would like to share, navigate to the Sharing tab, and select Create Share Code. You can then select the version of the project you would like copied as well as set an expiration date if needed.
Managing and Deleting Share Codes
After creating the Share Code, it will appear in the view table on the Sharing tab. Click the clipboard icon next to the code to copy it for sharing. The table also displays details for each code, including the creator and expiration date. Use the toggle to active or deactivate a code. When a code is toggled off, it cannot be used.
The rightmost column for a Share Code in the table is the Actions section. Here, clicking the 3 dots for a given Share Code offers to view the history of the Share Code being used (More Info Option) or to delete the Share Code altogether.
Importing a Share Code
To import a Share Code, go to the Projects page and select Import Project. Paste Share Code, provide a name for the new imported project, and lastly select either a Standard or Advanced Import.
Note: An Advanced Share Code import simply carries over custom headers from the original project, whereas the standard does not. If custom headers are used, it is recommended to use the advanced option.
When you select Advanced Share Code and click Import, the Header Matching prompt will appear. In this step, check the Well Header and Production Streams matching to import into the copied project. The matching process is similar to that when importing data so for tips on how to navigate the matching functionality, refer to
ComboCurve: Data Import How-To & FAQs. After confirming the mapping, click Complete Import. The copied project will then be available in your environment.
