ComboCurve: V39.5 Release Economic Validation Report (6/10/2025)
Starting in v39.5, ComboCurve changed how it stores forecast parameters. Previously, all parameters for a segment were saved—even those derived from others. These calculated parameters were rounded before being stored, and the rounded values were then used in segment generation and throughout the platform. This led to over-defined parameter sets in our database.
With the new approach, only essential parameters are saved. Any dependent parameters are calculated dynamically as needed, eliminating rounding in the storage process. This improves data integrity by eliminating conflicting or inconsistent values and provides simplified validation and maintenance of segment definitions.
With this new method of storing forecast parameters, slight deltas have been introduced for all outputs that are calculated given a set of forecast parameters. Note that no changes were made to how economic outputs are calculated. The changes in economic outputs are a result of using volumes that are calculated using a more precise set of forecast parameters.
