In this document we will go over all the options regarding mass forecast manipulation.
Mass Add Last Segment allows the user to insert a segment to the end of the current forecast. Any segments after this inserted segment will be removed. This feature will not insert a segment between two existing segments, the ending segment will be removed.
When adding a new last segment, the user will select which phase they would like to add this segment to as well as which model, they would like to add. Once the phase and model are selected the user will select the start and end date of this segment. There are many selections around starting and ending a segment.
When starting the segment, a user has the option of Date or Relative. Date allows the user to input a date to start the segment. Selecting relative will allow the user to select from a drop down of a variety of relative dates as well as set an offset to these dates.
When ending the segment, a user has a few options date, duration, well life, q final. Date allows the user to input an end date. Duration allows the user to input a length for the added segment. Well life will consider the full wells production and end the new segment when the well life is met. Finally, q final will end the segment at a given flow rate.
Lastly the user will give parameters for the added model. The model fields sections will change depending on the model the user is adding. In this section some options depending on the model are a toggle for connect q and match slope. Connect q will connect the starting of the added segment to the ending rate of the previous segment. Match slope will match the decline of the previous segment.
Mass Modify Well Life will adjust all the wells life to a
given point. The wells life can be stream independent or can all be linked
together to better match reality. The use can also tie the well life to match
the primary product which can be well specific. Primary product is defined in
the wells header table. When modifying the wells life a user has two options a
duration or rate. When selecting a duration, the user can select a starting
point for the duration, i.e. first production date.
Mass Shift Segments will shift all segments to a given time.
This shift can shift all segments forward and backwards in time. The user can
select for all or just selected streams to be shifted. The user will also
select the reference date to shift all the wells too. The user may also input
an offset with defined units from this reference date. Positive numbers will go
beyond the reference date and negative numbers will go before the reference
date.
Mass re-calculate q start will allow the user to project a forecast back in time prior to the current starting rate of the forecast. The user can do all or a selected number of streams to re-calculate the q start. The user has several options when selecting a reference date from the production dates, a wells header first production date, or even a fixed date. The user also has the ability to offset from this date and select the units of this offset.
Mass Re-Calculating a hyperbolic equation can cause rates to
skyrocket to unrealistic outcomes. Due to this we have implemented upper rate
limits that the user can define. These rate limits can be a fixed peak rate or
they can be a percentage of the original peak rate.
Mass Adjust Terminal Decline allows a user to shift all the
terminal declines for the selected phases. The user can select the interested
phases and input a desired terminal decline. This is primarily designed to work
with the Modified Arps decline model. For example, this would not work with a
flat segment.
Replace Forecast Parameters allows a user to quickly and
easily insert forecast parameters from different forecasts. This feature is
also designed to work across projects. The user will search for the interested
project the parameters they need are in. Once located they will select the give
forecast in the selected forecast. Finally, they will select the
well-identifier they want to use to match the wells between the two forecasts.
If the well identifier does not find a match the parameters will not be replaced.
Clear Well Forecasts is a quick and easy way to remove all
forecasts. The user can select which streams they want to remove forests on.
This function removes ALL forecasts that are currently being filtered. The
number next to run will indicate the number of wells that will be affected.
Currently there is no undo for this function so be mindful when using this
function.
Acknowledge All Warnings allows a user to quickly clear all
current warnings. Warnings are currently found on the forecast grid page show
by a triangle with a exclamation in it.
