ComboCurve: Forecast Importing, Converting, and Merging

Import Forecast from one project to another

In this article we will take a look at the process of importing forecasts from one project to another, merge forecasts together, and converting forecasts.

If you have your forecast ready that you want to put into your other project, first lets go into the project you want the forecast into. You can then navigate to the forecast page and select "Clear Project Filter".

Once you clear the project filter you will be able to see all forecasts that have been created not only in that specific project. You are then able to find the forecast that you are looking to bring over, using either the filter settings on the left side or searching the forecast by name.  After your forecast has been found you can click on the 3 dots net to the blue "WORK" button and select "Import to Current Project". This will bring in the forecast from your previous project into your new one!

Import Forecast on Specific Well Identifier

When importing forecast from one project to the other you will come across choosing a well Identifier and a toggle of "Import overlapping wells only"

When we import the same wells from other projects it is important to make sure you keep the same well identifier to prevent the creation of duplicate wells within this new project you are importing this forecast into. If the "Import overlapping wells only" is toggled on it will only bring in the wells that are already in this project and not all wells in the forecast you are bringing over.

Converting Forecasts

Within the Forecast settings page, you have the ability to convert your forecast from deterministic to probabilistic or vise versa.

Once in the settings page you can click on "Convert Forecast" and give the new forecast a name. Once this is completed you will have a converted forecast!

Merge Forecasts

If you have two forecasts that you want to bring together and merge, first you will want to navigate to your forecast page and check the box of the two forecasts you want to merge. They will look like the image below when selected.

There will be a blue merge button at the top right that appears after you have check-marked your two forecasts. Once you select the merge button it will ask you to determine the priority order of the two forecasts if you have some of the same wells in each one. One you determine your priority, then you can click the green merge button to complete the merge.
