ComboCurve: Custom CSV Reports

ComboCurve: Custom CSV Reports

Custom CSV Generation

Summary

After completing a scenario run, the “Export” dropdown has been updated.  In addition to the previously existing CSV export options (Well Oneline, Well Monthly Cashflow, Well Yearly Cashflow, Aggregate Monthly Cashflow, Aggregate Yearly Cashflow), there is now an additional “Custom CSV Editor” option.  Upon clicking this option, the user will be taken to a new dialog where they can customize CSV reports and save these customizations as templates.

Custom CSV Export Options Definitions

  1.  Template Name
    1. Name of the template that will be saved for future reference and use.
  2. Cash Flow reporting
    1. Allows the user to select if they want to view their cashflow csv in monthly, yearly or hybrid format.
  3. # of Time Periods
    1. If the user checks the “Aggregate remaining after # of periods”, then the input box for number of periods will be made available for input.  This switches away from the default selection, which is taking each aggregation to the ECL. This input will allow the user to aggregate all remaining time periods into 1 line item.  The line item displayed will report at the wells ECL.
**Note: The number of periods will count from the earliest As Of date for the dataset and will be the same time period for every well, even if As Of dates vary.
**Note: The criteria is the number of periods, not the number of months/years, so an input of “12” will vary how much time is viewed between monthly, yearly and hybrid reports.
  1. Hybrid Reporting: Selecting “Hybrid” for the Cashflow Reporting requires the user to enter a number of months to report.  Hybrid reporting will report a monthly cashflow for the specified number of months, then switch to a yearly reporting cadence. There are two methods of hybrid reporting available:
    1. Calendar:
      1. Calendar hybrid reporting will ensure the hybrid report ends in December, so that all yearly subsequent time periods are from January - December.  If the hybrid report does not end its monthly periods in December, the report will generate a gap-filling time period for the remaining months in the year.
        1. Example: Well A starts in Nov 2021 and has hybrid reporting for 6 months and Calendar method is selected.  The well will report monthly until April 2022, and then will have a line item for Dec 2022 that will be the aggregate of May - December.  All following time periods will report Dec 2023, Dec 2024, etc. as they are now reporting Jan-Dec of each year.
    2. Fiscal
      1. Fiscal hybrid reporting will take the last month of the monthly reporting period and will generate the yearly time periods from this point.  Example: Well A starts in Nov 2021 and has Hybrid reporting for 6 months and Fiscal selected.  The well will report Monthly until April 2022.  The next line item will be April 2023, as it is aggregating the 12 values between May 2022 and April 2023.  The report will continue reporting April 2024, April 2025, etc.
  2. Headers to include:
    1. A list of headers that can be selected for the custom CSV export reports.  This list will vary between Well reports and Aggregate reports, due to not all well headers being the same among aggregation levels.
  3. Output Columns to include:
    1. List of output columns that can be selected for the custom CSV export reports.  This list will vary between Oneline and Cashflow reports based on what is available to be selected in the “Run Scenario” options.
Note:  Any output column that can be selected will be reported regardless of if the user selected it in the Run Scenario option.  This functionality allows created templates to be shared among projects/users as there is no reliance on user selection to match.
  1. Add All Headers
    1. Adds all available headers to the report
  2. Add All Output Columns
    1. Adds all available output columns to the report
  3. Clear All
    1. Clears all header and output columns from the report template
  4. Included Selection box
    1. When headers and output columns are added to a report, they can be displayed at the  bottom of the dialog.  Inside this box, users have the ability to drag and drop headers and output columns to reorder them.  Users also have the ability to add sorting to columns (one click for ascending, two clicks for descending, 3 clicks to remove the sorting).  Finally, users can hit the trash can to remove a  column.
  5. Save
    1. Users can save the template for future use.  If the template name is the same as a pre-existing template the user will be prompted asking if they want to overwrite.  Users cannot save or overwrite a ComboCurve provided template (more on these following) but can use them as a jumping off point to create a new template under a different name.
  6. Export
    1. Clicking export will prompt the user to name and download their file.

Template Structure:

  1. Template Scope
    1. Templates are scoped to the project level. This allows users to easily share and use the same template for exports.  Users have the ability to select other projects to use existing templates or save a template to the current project.  Templates viewed on the sidebar will only display templates of the applicable report type.  Templates can be chosen as a default for that project and the user can have a default oneline, well cashflow, and aggregate cashflow template.
  2. ComboCurve Pre-existing templates
    1. These templates can be used to match all previously exported CSVs.  These CC provided templates will be at the top of the sidebar and include the CC logo to identify them.
  1. Well Oneline Cash Flow (CSV)
    1. The “Basic Headers” template will match the current default oneline export.  The “All Headers” template will match if user selects the “Include all well headers” checkbox in pre v34 workflow.
  2. Well Monthly/Yearly Cash Flow (CSV)
    1. The “By Well” template can be used to match both the monthly and yearly Cash Flow (CSV) pre v34 standard reports.  The user will need to select “Report Type” as “Well Cash Flow” for the “CC By Well” template option to appear. The user is also required to select the corresponding radio button for monthly or yearly.

  1. Aggregate Monthly/Yearly Cash Flow (CSV)
    1. The “Aggregate Monthly/Yearly” templates can be used to match both the monthly and yearly Aggregated Cash Flow (CSV) pre v34 standard reports.  The user will need to select “Report Type” as “Aggregate Cash Flow” for the “CC Aggregate Monthly/Yearly” template options to appear.

Scenario Table Headers Template
This template will allow users to populate Oneline and well Cash Flow reports with the headers, column order, and sorting viewed in the scenario table.  Please note that, like the current workflow, these CC provided templates are dynamic.  All CC provided templates are dependent on the output columns the user selects in the Run Scenario options.  The Scenario Table Headers template will change if the user changes their columns on the scenario table.  .  If the user chooses to save their own template based off of one of the CC provided templates, their newly created template is no longer dynamic and the headers and output columns will not update based on user selection in Run Scenario options.
