ComboCurve: Creating Wells

Creating Wells

In this article we will discuss how to create new wells in ComboCurve.

Users have the ability in ComboCurve to create new wells by heading to the project wells page. Here they will be able to click "Create Wells". These wells will have a data source of internal and be scoped to the project only. The chosen ID of these wells will be the INPT ID that is automatically generated by ComboCurve.

Configure

When creating the generic wells the user can define the well name prefix, this will be the beginning of all the wells names. The user will also define how many wells they would like to create and the number of wells per pad. If a header is going to be consistent for all the wells being created the user can select that header and add the correct input for the well header.

Review

Next, the user will see a preview of all the wells being created with the well names, pad names, and headers defined in the previous step. In this review step the user can also add more headers and make headers to the individual wells. This is a great place to add header information that is not the same across all wells. If the user wants to edit the well headers be sure to click edit in the top right corner. Users will not be able at this point to change the well name or pad name. This can be done after the wells are created.

Pro Tip: The tables columns can be rearranged to allow for quick and easy copy and paste from an excel spread sheet.

Once the user is done they can click create and the wells will be created and added to the project wells list. A quick way to find your wells you just created is using the filter page and filtering on well header created well. Set this to yes and the user will see all the created wells.
